One of the interesting companies to come out of china is (xiaomi). The company got the region by storm with its midrange smartphone lineup, becoming the No. 3 smartphone company within two years only.
However, due to increased competition from apple company, huawei, samsung, and lenovo, xiaomi's smartphone position in China has , and also the company is now exploring new products with a serious gadgets in united states this year.
Xiaomi recently announced theninebot, a self-balancing scooter, but it also now sells televisions, tablets, and also cameras. However, these products are mostly sold in china and parts of Southeast asia, but xiaomi is under pressure to expand its product line and get into new markets.
On the surface, no pun intended, microsoft shouldn't be worried. it has the channel and support ecosystem in place, and xiaomi would have to start from scratch in the united states. However, that is what it happened in china, and it's now a household name there. So it is no surprise that pc companies are looking very closely at xiaomi's interest in the united states market.
But one of the the more interesting questions around any xiaomi move into the united states market is what operating system its products could run. historically, xiaomi devices have run a customized version of android with its own ui, a dedicated app store, and localized services. most of the 2 in 1s being sold in the united states, however, are windows-based. xiaomi has no experience with windows and would have a tough time getting channel support.
